At Golden Band, our goal is to minimize our environmental impacts and safeguard the environment as we continue with aggressive exploration and near-term production plans. Responsible environmental management is central to our success as a leadinggold explorer in Saskatchewan. To achieve our goals of protection of the environment we remain committed to good working relationships with the provincial government. We are in the process of acquiring the necessary licenses and permits for active operations at the La Ronge gold belt and have deposited funds with the Saskatchewan Environment department as required by the department to cover clean-up and remediation of the Company’s Jolu mill. Our Senior Management continues to proactively participate in government and industry consultation and planning bodies. These include the Saskatchewan Mining Association and the Saskatchewan Mineral Exploration Government Advisory. In this capacity, Golden Band has played a significant role with the Governement in the development of new mineral exploration guidelines for best management practices. Golden Band's environmental practices have been included as an example in the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada's Environmental Excellence in Exploration e-manual. This is an online resource for environmentally and socially responsible exploration practices and issues. |

The traditional uses of the land are recognized and respected by Golden Band. We have established strong relationships with the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and its economic development company, Kitsaki Management Limited Partnership. In cooperation with the Lac La Ronge Indian Band we have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that forms the cornerstone of a mutually-beneficial relationship while respecting traditional values, culture and history. A General Service Agreement was also signed with Kitsaki/Procon Joint Venture to provide opportunities to Lac La Ronge Indian Band members at our advanced exploration, pre-development projects and future production operations. To continue to strengthen relationships with northern partners, Golden Band has held a series of community information meetings to talk about our project status and initiatives. Meetings were held in October 2007 and July 2008. The meetings took place in Brabant, Grandmothers Bay, Missinipe, Stanley Mission, Sucker River and La Ronge.
