Golden Band Resources Inc. (Golden Band), a gold exploration and development company based in Saskatoon, has been active since 1994 in the La Ronge Gold Belt. As part of Golden Band’s long term plans for gold mining and development of La Ronge Gold Project, Golden Band started gold mining at the Roy Lloyd Mine (Bingo deposit) and milling at the Jolu site in late 2010. The proposed Golden Heart Mine is a continuation of the La Ronge Gold Project, which includes the already approved Komis, EP, Jolu, Decade and Roy Lloyd mine sites as well as the Jolu mill and JAG/Mallard Tailings Management Facility. The proposed Golden Heart Mine is located approximately 180 km northeast of La Ronge and approximately 11 km north of the community of Brabant Lake. The mine has an estimated life of 4 years and will supply ore to the Jolu mill. Golden Band Resources is seeking Ministerial Approval pursuant to the Environmental Assessment Act to construct, operate and decommission the Golden Heart Mine. Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment is scheduled to release draft Project Specific Guidelines on January 15, 2011 for public review and comment. These guidelines along with comments received during the information meetings will be used by Golden Band to develop an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed project. The Saskatchewan Ministry of the Environment (MOE) has released the draft Project Specific Guidelines. The review period starts on January 15th and ends February 14th, 2011. Please click here to go to the Saskatchewan Government website to view the proposal, notice and guidelines. Please join us in La Ronge at the La Ronge Hotel and Suites, 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7th, 2011. We’d like to know what you think. |
